Nine of the holes feature water, and the course is particularly noteable for Pete Dye’s bunker design.

6. Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego is widely recognized as one of the finest municipal golf facilities in the world, and is home to two golf courses, North and South. The South course in particular is highly recommended. The facility takes its name from the Torrey Pine trees that are indigenous to the area.
